This recipe from TipHero has gone viral on Facebook and I am sure by now you have all seen it !! I couldn't resist trying it and it definitely lived up to my expectation.
Not only were these Baked Apple Roses pretty easy to make, they were also as beautiful as pictured in the video !!!
Here are a few tips learnt during the process :)
- use pastry that is still cold. If at room temperature you will struggle to "control" the pastry and it will stretch quite a lot. I use frozen pastry which I thaw in the fridge for a few hours before using. I then only take the pastry out 10 minutes before using, so it is cold and easier to handle.
- when baked and cooled, brush with a little apricot jam to give the roses a nice shine
- use the best quality puff pastry you can find as it will make all the difference... I use the frozen puff pastry from Trader Joe's but unfortunately it's only available around Thanksgiving.

These will be perfect for our Christmas gathering !
Have you tried them ? What did you think ?
