These jars have been so trendy for a couple of years now, and for good reason ! They are a super cute way to present small favors :)
Here I used them to present some Sea Life Animals from Party City for our Under the Sea Birthday Party. My jam jars were the perfect size for the animals.
I first made those animal jars last year for my Easter table. The technique is pretty straightforward. Glue a plastic animal on top of the lid (using super glue or hot glue) and spray paint the whole thing in a color of your choice. See my previous post with instructions here.
However for this project I really wanted to use the printable paper from Mimi's Dollhouse Under the Sea range.
I first tried to completely Mod Podge the lid with the chevron paper but the printer paper was too thick and I thought the end result looked a bit bulky.
So in the end I spray painted the lids and sea animals separately, Mod Podged a circle of chevron paper on the painted lid and then glued the animal on top. I think the end result is pretty cute !
