The year is just beginning but my daughter already decided on her (september !) birthday theme a while ago: Ballerina it is and she wants it pink, pink, pink !!!!
So I have started gathering ideas. What I thought was going to be an easy theme is not so easy after all, how to work with just one colour without it being dull ??? I might have to bring in another colour (orange maybe) to make it more interesting but don't worry, there will be more on that soon, once I have made my mind up.
Because I have two summer birthdays to plan, I usually try and start early, like now. A bit crazy I know, but this way I get time to do most of the decorations myself.
So here is the first one. A simple ballerina frame.
I bought a basic square art canvas from the pound shop and added cutout designs in pretty papers.
I used my Silhouette to cut out my daughter's name (font is Loyal Fame) and a template for the ballet shoes (the silhouette can't cut glittery paper apparently, it risks damaging the blade...). I then used the template to cut out the ballet shoes in the pink glittery paper.
And I just finish it with a pink polka dot ribbon all around the frame.

I love it! It's simple, but elegant. I start planning way in advance too. It makes me less stressed and the party more enjoyable. I'm following. Stop by www.thenymelrosefamily.blogspot.com and check me out. Thanks for sharing!
